Our Philosophy
"We believe that what you pour on your food is as important as what you eat. The right olive oil — pure, fresh and polyphenol-rich — is not a luxury. It is medicine, flavour and heritage in a single bottle."

The Groves of Crete

Rooted in 4,000 Years of Olive Heritage

Crete is not just Greece's largest island — it is the world's most storied olive oil land. The Minoans traded Cretan olive oil across the ancient Mediterranean. The Romans prized it above all others. Today, Crete still produces olive oil of extraordinary quality, thanks to its unique microclimate, ancient varietals and generations of knowledge passed from grove to grove.

Our olives are the Koroneiki variety — small, intensely flavoured, extraordinarily rich in polyphenols. They grow on our single estate in the sun-drenched, limestone-rich hillsides of Chania, Crete's westernmost province, kissed by sea breezes off the Aegean and Libyan seas and ripened slowly under an unrelenting Mediterranean sun.

Our Journey

From a Greek Grove to an Indian Kitchen

Cretekos was born from a deeply personal conviction — that India deserves access to the world's finest olive oil, not the diluted, blended products that fill most store shelves.

Visiting the olive groves of Chania and tasting the extraordinary first-harvest oil straight from the press, we were struck by how completely different it was from anything we had encountered before. That experience became a mission: to bring genuinely authentic Cretan olive oil, with its staggering polyphenol count and uncompromised heritage, directly to Indian homes.

We work directly with a single family estate, maintaining full traceability from tree to bottle. Every bottle of Cretekos is a direct line from the grove to your kitchen — nothing added, nothing diluted, nothing compromised.

Seeing It For Ourselves

We Stood at the Press

It's easy to print "cold-pressed" on a label. We wanted to see it happen. So we walked the production line ourselves — the stainless steel presses, the cold-extraction rooms held below 27°C, the bottling hall — and asked every question we could think of.

Nothing about our process is outsourced trust. We watched the olives go in and the oil come out, met the people who run the mill, and only then decided this was the oil worth bringing home to India.

What We Stand For

Our Values

verified

Uncompromising Purity

Single-estate, single-variety, first-harvest. No blending, no additives, no compromise. What you taste is exactly what nature and the grove produced.

science

Evidence-Based Quality

Every batch is tested by accredited laboratories. We share the numbers openly — polyphenol count, acidity, oleocanthal — because quality that can't be measured can't be trusted.

public

Full Traceability

Every bottle carries a batch number. Scan it and trace your oil back to the specific grove, harvest date and cold-press session it came from. That is our promise of transparency.

Genuine Health Value

We exist because we believe food can be medicine. High-polyphenol olive oil has the science behind it. We're here to make that science accessible to every Indian household.

Why Crete

The World's Premier
Olive Oil Island

4,000

Years of Olive Cultivation

Crete's olive oil history predates ancient Greece. The Minoans cultivated and traded olive oil as far back as 2000 BCE, making Crete one of the oldest olive oil civilisations on earth.

#1

Global Per-Capita Consumption

Cretans consume more olive oil per person than any other population in the world — an average of 20 litres per person annually, compared to a global average of less than 1 litre.

1,210

mg/Kg Polyphenols

Our EVOO was independently tested at 1,210 mg/Kg — a level rarely achieved outside of first-harvest Cretan oils. The global average is under 200 mg/Kg.

PDO

Protected Geographical Indication

Crete holds a Protected Designation of Origin for its extra virgin olive oil — a legal guarantee from the European Union that the oil is genuinely from Crete and meets strict quality standards.

From Grove to Your Kitchen

October — Early Harvest

The Olives Are Picked

Our Koroneiki olives are harvested by hand at peak ripeness — earlier than conventional harvest, when polyphenol levels are at their highest and the oil has its characteristic green-gold colour and peppery finish.

Within 6 Hours

Cold Pressed at the Mill

Within hours of picking, the olives are transported to our estate mill and cold-pressed below 27°C. This preserves the full spectrum of polyphenols, flavour compounds and vitamins that define truly exceptional EVOO.

Lab Testing

Every Batch Certified

Each batch is sent to the World Olive Center for Health for independent polyphenol analysis. Only batches that meet our exacting standards are bottled under the Cretekos label.

UV-Protective Packaging

Sealed to Preserve Quality

Our oil is filled into UV-protective dark glass bottles that prevent light-induced oxidation — the primary cause of polyphenol degradation in lesser-packaged olive oils.

Direct Import

Flown to India

We import Cretekos directly from Crete to India, bypassing the long distribution chains that age most imported olive oils before they reach your kitchen. First harvest purity, delivered fresh.
